A Little History...

Arnold's Greenhouse is located on farm land owned and cared for by the Arnold family since 1905.  It has been over twenty-five years since George and Rita Arnold built a 10 X 16 foot greenhouse in their backyard.  Working in the greenhouse started as a hobby for the Arnolds, but soon became a growing business which occupies the Arnold's and one of their three daughters full time, as well as many knowledgeable and dedicated employees.  One greenhouse with 160 square feet in 1977 has now become 21 greenhouses with 80,000 square feet, lush display gardens, and an amazing assortment of perennials, trees, shrubs, conifers, herbs, vegetables, annuals, aquatics and more.

What You'll Find at Arnold's Greenhouse...

The Arnold family invites you to take a drive into the countryside and enjoy a day visiting their garden center.

When approaching Arnold's Greenhouse, you will notice a visible entrance marked by a 60' by 120' display garden which will be bursting with color April through October.  After parking in the 100 car parking lot, you can enter the garden center, a 4800 sq. foot Butler building with a 12' porch overlooking the garden.  You may wish to relax a bit on the porch to drink in the view of the gardens and the green pastures and lush hills of Turkey Creek and beyond.

Once inside, you will find a roomy display area with an array of garden art and accessories.  The garden center is home to the 'Garden Inspirations Library', which is an area of relaxation and numerous gardening books and magazines for your benefit in planning your garden or researching plants.  You will also notice a conference room for educational seminars and fun hands on classes, and two restrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible.

On through the large double doors is one of the most unusual greenhouses you will ever encounter.  At 120' wide by 288' long, it is almost as large as the playing field at Arrowhead Stadium!  What's more, the entire roof which covers this huge area is retractable-just like a convertible! Imagine shopping our 4,500+ varieties of plants with the roof opened to benefit from maximum light and fresh air.  Suppose a shower comes up.  Within three minutes we can close the roof, keeping you dry and comfortable.

In addition to the main greenhouse, there are thirteen other greenhouses to shop.  All told, at 80,000 sq. feet of shopping space under cover, Arnold's Greenhouse is one of the largest covered plant shopping areas in America.

In addition to the shopping available at Arnold's, you can stroll through one of our amazing display gardens and search for inspiration.  Arnold's also offers a variety of educational seminars and hands on classes covering various gardening techniques, crafts for gardens, and other topics.

Once you've visited Arnold's Greenhouse, you'll see why gardeners come from 200 miles away and spend hours being entertained by this enjoyable atmosphere and wonderful garden-ready plants.  We invite you to spend a relaxing and exciting day at Arnold's!  You are welcome to bring a sack lunch to enjoy in the gazebo or on the front porch.  Also see our local places of interest page for accommodations, eateries, and other places of interest in the area.
